RTU disinfectants are very common because they are ready to use and do not require a dilution with water. While there are no dilution ratios, RTU disinfectants still have a required contact or
dwell time. Generally, the contact time is 5 minutes or less. RTU disinfectants will have higher claims such as C-Diff, MRSA, VRE, TB, when compared to Concentrate disinfectants.
During the RTU disinfection cycle, the high pressure pump draws the RTU solution liquid out of the container and sprays a mist through nozzles located on moving spray arms providing broad
coverage on equipment.
To ensure the disinfectant is applied, a flow sensor monitors disinfectant fluid. If there is no fluid, the system will alert the operator to replace the empty container.
Approximately 2.0 oz is dispensed for each disinfectant cycle. HUBSCRUB supports a number of RTU products – citric acid, hydrogen peroxide, quaternary, phenol and Hypochlorous Acid.
