The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in November 2016 started phasing in changes to long-standing regulations and requirements impacting long-term care facilities and their eligibility for participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. As waves of changes continue to unfold, facility leaders must ensure compliance with the biggest shift in industry regulations in decades. RKL’s Senior Living Services Consulting Group taps into its clinical and operations experience, including tenures as Director of Nursing and other corporate roles, to help facilities adapt to this new survey environment. RKL developed a suite of survey readiness analysis services that offer facility leaders the productive insights and actionable feedback they need to prepare for a successful survey experience.
Since RKL uses the same Critical Element Pathway forms as CMS, facility leaders undergo the mock survey process in the same manner as their state survey and gain a sense of comfort with the process. To maximize efficiency, RKL’s Senior Living Services consultants developed a custom computer program to provide immediate feedback on deficiencies or areas of concern, which allows facilities time to refine any issues ahead of their upcoming surveys.
