After the sessions with the Broomx platform we saw a reduction in the use of medication, agitation, and depression.
We have been lucky enough to utilize the BroomX for a variety of programs, including armchair travel, sensory stimulation, meditation, reminiscing, and cognitive games. The BroomX provides a unique, immersive experience that excites our residents and increases engagement due to its variety of visuals and sounds. It has provided a new opportunity for some of our residents who hadn’t previously engaged in many recreation therapy group programming. We have observed an increase in mood, engagement, and peacefulness.
At North Shore University Hospital in the Palliative Care Unit, we have been utilizing the Broomx immersive platform with our patients and their caregivers. We provide 360-degree experiences to those at end of life, who would otherwise not have the opportunity to create shared memories together. Patients are given the autonomy to choose their destinations and fill their rooms with worldly audible and visual experiences. We have had extraordinary feedback from patients, family and team members and continue to make a large impact on our community!
My job is to encourage quality of life and bring our residents the joy they deserve. If they’re happy, I’m happy. That’s what I’m here for. To be able to change an environment inside a memory care unit is just amazing; people can literally step into a different moment. The Immersion Room powered by Broomx allows residents to go somewhere safely without ever leaving the building. I’m very mindful of their facial expressions and body language. They are engaged, smiling, and commenting on the images around them.

By partnering with Broomx, we were able to be one of the first in the world to have access to brand-new projection technology. With a 360-degree field of view, this projector can stream videos to all walls and vaulted ceilings to give the impression of being transported to a completely different world of a resident’s choosing. Whether it be sitting on a beach in Portugal, or a boat ride through the jungle in Costa Rica, swimming underwater with dolphins in the Caribbean, a rollercoaster like Six Flags, or a tour through a sci-fi fantasy land, there is something for everyone that will captivate anyone young or old for hours. With a massive library of content that’s being updated daily, there are endless possibilities for what to watch.
